Not Enough Disk Space 0 MB available / Conversion Failed (disk write failure)

I can't seem to get Steam to respond, and Activision support is telling me my issue resides with Steam. My problem began Saturday, when I got a message when starting Call of Duty 3 PC that says it needs to upgrade itself. I clicked to proceed. I then end up getting a message that says Conversion Failed (disk write failure) and Steam doesn't load properly. I posted a question regarding this on Steam Support (no response of course) and then hit the Activision chat line. A fellow on there told me to uninstall the game, and then reinstall the game. So I did. I am now getting an installation error notifying me that I do not have enough disk space. The window says that I have 0 GB available. I have tried installing to different locations through Steam, but no matter which hard drive I choose, it thinks I have zero space available. I've got plenty of space; 24 gb on the drive I prefer to complete the installation on. I have tried installing from the disk (which defaults to install on drive C) and through Steam (which I can then select the drive to install to). Either way, steam is reading that I have 0 MB available.
Should I uninstall Steam and then reinstall? Will that delete my Prestige levels? I don't want to lose that info. Or, can I back that up? The good thing is I did copy the entire file folder for steam and valve onto a storage drive prior to uninstalling.

[EW]S&D *promod rules* now up
Hey guys, I hope you guys are enjoying MW3. For those of you who play on dedicated servers and are competitive players, [EW]promod rules is up. Its currently running all maps with 4 round quarters and a 12 round score limit. The round timer is 1:30 and the bomb timer is :45 with 5sec plant and 7sec defuse. It's 18 slots, perks, attachments, profeciencies, and killstreaks are off and has these default classes.

The default classes are very flexible so if you think a better class could be on this list be sure to voice your opinion on the [EW] forums or message me on steam or xfire!
This is a list of currently banned guns. All LMGs, Launchers, and Machine Pistols as well. Dragunov, Barrett .50cal, RSASS, AS50, AA-12, Striker, and KSG-12 are all banned as well. All special and primary grenades are banned except for smoke and frag. MP7 isn't banned currently but it probably will be depending on opinion.
Custom Classes are enabled so you can use the classes you create in Play/Private Match/Create-a-Class but if they don't follow the guidelines above then they will be locked. If your favorite custom class is unlocked try the following: Remove attachments and profeiceincies, any camo is fine. Make sure you're using a handgun without an attachment as your secondary. Set your nades to smoke and frag.

I found some server in MW3 what have XP Boosting config. and if you kill one person you will get a lot of XP and you can earn the prestiges in only one day.
Its not a client side hack/cheat program than in the MW2 was, its only on the server, and anyone can connect and boost their XP.
A server owner told me that:
"This is a server modification , since its not running on your machine , you will not be detected by the VAC , so VAC only detects if YOU run hacks , if the server runs >MODS< you are fine."
You can earn the 10. prestige in one day if you want. O.o Why it's possible?

I leveled some level and I connected the server (my friend was on it), and i get a lot of XP. :O
I must reset my stat? I don't want that 'cause my normal leveling will be lost. :\
Is it illegal? The players will get ban if they playing on servers like that?

Modern Warfare 3 DirectX Installation Errors Fix?
Hi there,
I have bought Modern Warfare 3 yesterday during the 33% off sale on Steam, and just finished downloading it today. After I had clikced on the play button for the multiplayer, it runs through the standard first time instalation things. After reaching the "Microsoft DirectX for Windows" set-up, I will get an error ( http://i.imgur.com/tD9Hs.png ). After this I click the "OK" button, it launches the game to the loading screen, then gives me another error saying " Couln't load image 'voice_off' " that crashes my game. Has anyone got a fix for this problem?
System Specs :
Intel Celeron CPU Single Core @ 2.29GHz
2GB RAM
Windows 7 Home Premium 64BIT.

Error: Unable to Connecto to host (?)
Hey,
I've been having this error where i can play a game for 3 minutes and then it shuts down and gives me an error saying: "Unable to connect to host". I can't join certain friends their partys too. I tried getting my NAT type from strict to open but it didn't change for some reason. I can find a game easily and quick.
Can someone help me? I reinstalled the game without any succes.

Hello everyone. i've been working of this since the first day of january. it took most of my time but i dont regret it. because this is pretty useful and helpful. From now on say bye bye to 'So.survival_mp_paris.ff' error and enjoy your time playing the survival mode.
All insturcions on how to use it are inside the RAR folder. Please write your reviews and let me know if there is anything wrong that needs to be fixed as this is the first verison so you might face some bugs. thank you

Should FPS unlocking be legal?
I think FPS unlocking should be legal like FOV Changer is now, and is it even illegal right now can somebody tell me?
There's lots of perfomance FPS unlockers that can make you get 91+ fps in the game, is it possible to get banned for using them?
I'm interested because I saw one guy using FPS unlocker on his stream and his game looked so clear. If it's illegal then I wouldn't even touch it.

Map problem
Hy all. I have a problem with Hardhat and Village. When it starts loading to play, for hardhat says mp_hardhat.ff is different version of a game, and for village it block whole game and ERROR: Could not find zone "mp_village.ff"

Don't destroy the competition!
Hi Guys and CoD Lovers.
Since Call of Duty 4 cod never reached such a high fame and popularity
Why? Because the new Call of Duty games are only for consoles!!!
We of the Electronic Sports League want to play a competitive game. We want to proof us as good and 'high'-skilled players in the Call of duty community.
Naturally we can't play with the normal version of call of duty mw3, so we needed to.. change a little bit. We wanted to have a mod tool, to make mods like in COD 4 and COD 7: Black Ops, (promodlive v2.11 or xkmod11) But we didn't get it. So we said: "OK, Let us try something different" And we started with the Promod Plugin, with it, the game became more and more competitive! We could make ladders, 5on5 3on3 and so on. Cups, and more of these thing were played.
Now with the new update cod8:mw3 is going to die again. There are barriers, the programmeers of the promod plugin can't do anything against these. So the competition is destroyed again.
Please to all people out there SUPPORT US! We want to play a game that is at least as popular as Counter Strike! We want to make LANS with high Prices. We want an awesome first-person-shooter in a competitive way.
All you have to do is say every call of duty player that you know, to spread out this message.. Also to the xbox or ps3 community! We want to play!

Mw3 Freezing at Main menu
Whenever I start Mw3 SP/MP after about 10 seconds it freezes and I can only close it via task manager. I've talked to two reps and neither of them helped me.
I have;
- Verified my game cache
- Disabled cloud
- Reinstalled the game 4 times
- Reinstalled the game on a different hard drive 2 times
- Deleted Steam and redownlaoded MW3.
Nothing has worked. I'm so frustrated right now, can someone help me?
My PC Specs;
16 GB 1866Mhz RAM
Intel(R) Core(TM) i76-3630QM CPU @ 2.40GHZ
nVidia GTX 675m 4GB VRAM @1066MHZ

ATTENTION! Graphics FIX HERE!!!
Guys, if u have a problem with low texture guality, USE "NATIVE" image quality. Can be found under advanced options. It makes the game look as good as mw2 does. I know i had this problem, and i was able to fix it with native image quality. Test and report back, and lets keep this thread on top so every1 sees this.

Can't connect to online services PC

I've played MW3 for 6 months (since it came out) and after these 6 moths I couldn't connect to the online services anymore.
